Extraordinary Educator Series

Are you a Real Estate Educator, or interested in becoming one?
The Virginia REALTORS® Extraordinary Educator Series is a yearly series of professional development sessions specifically for real estate educators in Virginia. During these sessions, Virginia real estate educators will gather to network, share their experiences and continue to perfect their leadership, teaching and development skills.

The next offering in this series will be presented at the Virginia REALTORS® Headquarters office in Glen Allen.

Extraordinary Educator Series – Turning a Topic into a Course

From the idea to the delivery, turning a topic into a course that is compelling, memorable and engaging isn’t easy!  In this session, you’ll learn what makes a good training course, how to decide just what to cover, how to be flexible and infuse innovation, the importance of strong starts and finishes, how to extend the learning beyond the course, and how to evaluate your program for success!  Working with the adult learner can be very rewarding.  Understanding a few key approaches to adult education makes the training experience a success for everyone.

Your Course Facilitator:  Lesa Hanlin, EdD, is Director of the Virginia Tech Hampton Roads Centers and the Virginia Tech Richmond Center, where she is responsible for engaging the community with the university's graduate, professional development, and lifelong learning programs. In addition to managing a portfolio of continuing education programming, Lesa creates, customizes and facilitates a series of human development coursework for organizations in the private and public sector. She also provides center management, new business development and promotes regional partnerships.

Note: The same class is being offered on May 24 and May 25.
