Patricia B Jensen, ABR, CBR, CRS, GRI

Pat Jensen has built a distinguished career as a REALTOR® and a leader in Virginia's real estate community. The 2008 president of the Virginia Association of REALTORS, she has served as the broker manager of Real Estate III in Charlottesville since 2002.

Pat's real estate career began a decade earlier in 1992 as a real estate salesperson and then associate broker at Charlottesville's Montague, Miller & Company. And if you track her professional success, equal parts of a passion for volunteer service and a commitment to personal development emerge as hallmarks of that success.

She has earned designations from the Graduate of Realtor Institute of Virginia, as well as Certified Residential Specialist, Accredited Buyer Representative, Accredited Buyer Representative Master, Senior Real Estate Specialist, and Consultant-Certified Real Estate Consultant.

The 2002 president of the Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORS®, Pat's rise in the local ranks included serving as chair for committees on education, budget and finance, past presidents, leadership, and RPAC, in addition to treasurer of CAAR's board of directors.

At the state level, Pat has devoted an untold number of volunteer hours working for her fellow REALTORS® as Professional Development Advisory Group chair and vice chair, a member of VAR's Delegate Body, an RPAC trustee and chair and founding member of the Virginia Leadership Academy. A member of the academy's class of 2005, Pat went on to serve as chairman of the class of 2006, and VLA member and trustee chairman. In November 2007, after one year honing her leadership skills as president-elect, Pat assumed her role as VAR's president at the National Association of REALTORS annual convention.

As her career has progressed, her outstanding service to her profession and her peers has earned her numerous honors and accolades. Pat is the only individual in CAAR to have ever been awarded the association's four major awards: Rookie of the Year, Sales Person of the Year, Realtor of the Year and its Ethics In Action Award.

She was a member of the Professional Honor Society, representing both CAAR and VAR from 1996 through 2005. In 2000 she was selected as VAR's Sales Person of the Year.

As truly outstanding as her record of service to the real estate community is, she also nurtures a number of other causes including the Alzheimer’s Association, United Way Day of Caring, the American Cancer Society, Charlottesville Pregnancy Center, Habitat for Humanity and FOCUS, a Christian youth-oriented program. In addition, she has served as a member of the Charlottesville Senior Center Board of Directors since 2005.

A member of the Charlottesville Albemarle Retail Merchants Association from 1980 to 2005, she was its first female president in 1985.

She served on the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation Governing Board from 1999 to 2005.

As VAR’s chief elected officer, Pat is responsible not just for executing the association’s strategies and policies, she is also the primary guardian of REALTORS®’ reputation in Virginia and the role model for an emerging generation of new REALTOR® leaders. She is more than well-equipped for the job.
