Purpose and Objectives
Purpose: To serve the legislative, regulatory, educational and other specialized needs of individuals with an interest in real estate appraisal; and to be the business and legislative advocate for professional appraisers in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Objectives:
- To enhance the professionalism, knowledge, and public image of appraiser members.
- To provide an extensive, meaningful and unified voice on regulatory and legislative issues.
- To serve as a liaison with other appraisal groups.
- To provide economic benefits for members by identifying products, services and educational opportunities.
- To provide opportunities for idea exchange among peers.
- To offer opportunities for peer recognition and leadership development.
- To add to the body of knowledge in the appraisal profession.
Benefits:
- Legislative updates, calls to action, drafts and periodic reports on legislative and regulatory activities that pertain to the appraisal area.
- Publication of a newsletter that provides information on relevant issues in the appraisal profession.
- Section membership directory.
- Calendar of educational offerings throughout the state compiled and disseminated.
Structure:
- Governing body is a Board of Directors including a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer. Officers (4) and Directors (9) elected by annual general Appraisal Alliance membership.
- Liaisons appointed to other appropriate VAR Advocacy Groups Membership categories are:

B. Regular Active member - $75.00
