VARbuzz: Out-of-state clients moving in? Remind them of the tax holiday

If you’ve got clients who have just moved to Virginia — maybe trying to get into a new house before the school year starts — don’t forget to remind them about Virginia’s upcoming back-to-school tax holiday August 3-5.

School supplies $20 and under, and clothing/footwear $100 and under will be exempt from Virginia’s 5% local sales tax — that includes stuff like pens, notebooks, backpacks, even jeans and T-shirts.
