Property Management

VAR'S Property Managers Council, a special interest group of VAR, is the business and legislative advocate for VAR's property managers. The Council exists to

  • Enhance the professionalism, knowledge, and public image of VAR's property managers,
  • Provide a unified voice on regulatory and legislative issues, and
  • Act as a liaison with property manager groups across the state.

STANDARD FORMS & CONTRACTS

VAR offers a variety of forms for property managers, including the popular:

  • Application for Residential Lease – Form 300;
  • Property Management and Exclusive Right to Lease – Form 900;
  • Residential Lease – Form 200; and
  • Pet Addendum – Form 220

All 9 of our property management forms -- leases, addenda, disclosures, etc. -- have been updated in late 2011. This is a major overhaul done in collaboration with the Northern Virginia and Richmond associations, Future Law LLC, and VAR’s Standard Forms Working Group to make these forms more user friendly, and to ensure accuracy.

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT EDUCATION

VAR is the proud host of the annual Property Management Coalition Conference. This conference is the best resource for property management education in Virginia, and also includes great networking opportunities. Held each fall, the PMCC is one of the highest-rated events that VAR offers. If you would like to be added to the mailing list for this event, please e-mail LynneW@VARealtor.com.
