Virginia REALTOR® Hall of Fame Members

  • Martha Anders, Yorktown
    Ms. Anders of Coldwell Banker Professional of Hampton. She has had a 35-year real estate career, including serving as her local association president, a member of VAR Board of Directors, an RPAC trustee, and as chair of the Medium Board Subforumm at NAR.
  • Ralph Anderson, Virginia Beach
    Mr. Anderson served as Executive Vice President of the Virginia Association of Realtors from 1979 to 1993.
  • Jean Clary Bagley, Emporia
    Ms. Clary Bagley of Century 21 Clary and Associates Inc. received the NAR Good Neighbor Award in 2001 and served as member of the VAR Board of Directors. She co-authored the CARES (Children Are Really Special) Program, providing education opportunities to children in the Southern Virginia area.
  • Nathan Booth, Alexandria
    Mr. Booth served the Virginia real estate industry at the state, local and national levels during his career, including having been a VAR Past President and Virginia REALTOR® of the Year.
  • Dennis Cronk, Roanoke
    Mr. Cronk of Poe & Cronk Real Estate Group served as president of the National Association of REALTORS® in 2000, and was VAR President in 1988. He received Virginia’s REALTOR® of the Year award in 1993.
  • Sandee Ferebee, Virginia Beach
    Ms. Ferebee is president of GSH Real Estate, was VAR President in 1990. She received Virginia’s REALTOR® of the Year award in 1994.
  • Dottie Figg, Richmond
    Ms. Figg has been a long-time leader in the Virginia real estate industry, both through volunteer positions at the state and local level as well as through years of service on the Virginia Real Estate Board.
  • Dale Fleenor, Bristol
    Mr. Fleenor is owner/broker of RE/MAX Choice of Bristol and served on the VAR Policy Board for six years, National Association of REALTORS® Director for 3 years and RPAC Trustee for 7 years.
  • Joe Funkhouser, Harrisonburg
    Mr. Funkhouser of Coldwell Banker Funkhouser Realtors is a national Distinguished Service Award recipient, and was VAR President in 1986. He served as Chairman of the Virginia Real Estate Board for six years, and received Virginia’s REALTOR® of the Year award in 1989.
  • Teddy Goodson, Fairfax
    Ms. Goodson has served in numerous ways throughout her real estate career, both at the local and state level, particularly in the areas of legislative advocacy and government affairs. She is a member of the Northern Virginia Association of REALTORS®' Hall of Fame and is an honorary life member. Ms. Goodson has also served at the national level as a director in addition to vast community involvement in the Northern Virginia area.
  • George Grundy, Petersburg
    Mr. Grundy has long been a leader in the real estate community and is a past winner of many Virginia real estate awards including VAR Honor Society, Code of Ethics Leadership Awards, and winner of the Southside Association of REALTORS®' lifetime achievement award.
  • Ed Hall, Roanoke
    Mr. Hall is owner/broker of Hall Associates, Inc. He served as VAR President in 1994 and served as a NAR director from 1989-1996 and as chairman of NAR’s Commercial and Investment Forum in 1992.
  • Dorcas Helfant-Browning, Virginia Beach
    Ms. Helfant-Browning of Coldwell Banker Professional served as the first woman president of the National Association of REALTORS® in 1990, and was VAR President in 1984. She received Virginia’s REALTOR® of the Year award in 1987.
  • Fred Hetzel, Leesburg
    Fred Hetzel of Coldwell Banker Leesburg served as VAR President in 1985.  he also served as Vice President, Treasurer and Director.  He also served as President of the Virginia Real Estate Education Foundation as well as NAR Director.
  • Steve Hoover, Roanoke
    Mr. Hoover of MKB, REALTORS® is a national Distinguished Service Award recipient, and served as VAR President in 1992. He received Virginia’s REALTOR® of the Year award in 1996. He was NAR’s Vice President and Liaison to Committees and a member of the Executive Committee in 2006.
  • Tom Innes, Richmond
    Mr. Innes is a Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Commonwealth in Richmond. VAR past president AND Realtor of the Year who has been a part of the real estate industry for 38 years. He has served as president of his local association, as a member of VAR Board of Directors, as VAR president, and as an NAR director.
  • Betty Jasmund, Stafford
    Mrs.Jasmund of Coldwell Banker Elite in Stafford, served as a member of the Board of Directors and also as an RPAC Trustee and Chair in 1999 and Chair of VAR's Public Policy Advocacy Group in 2001.
  • Tom Jefferson, III, Richmond
    Mr. Jefferson of Jefferson-Jones, Inc. was VAR President in 1997. He is a past NAR Region 3 Vice President, and was a national Distinguished Service Award recipient.
  • Jo Anne Johnson, Falls Church
    Ms. Johnson is with Westgate Realty Group in Falls Church and has been a long-time local and state association leader, previously serving on a variety of committees and on the VAR Board of DIrectors.
  • Crawley Joyner, Richmond
    Mr. Joyner of Joyner Fine Properties was VAR President in 1987. He received Virginia’s REALTOR® of the Year award in 1992.
  • Bud Kreh, Madison
    Mr. Kreh has been in the real estate business for nearly 50 years and has served as an instructor, certifies mediator, and mentor to new agents throughout his career. He has been a member of the VAR Honor Society for 15 years and served on numerous committees and work groups at the local and state level associations.
  • Al Matacia, Charlottesville
    Mr. Matacia of Matacia Real Estate, Inc. was a director for NAR from 1988-1994, and a member of VAR’s Board of Directors for fourteen years.
  • Otis Mead, Lexington
    Otis Mead of Mead Associates, Lexington served as President of VAR in 1972.  He was an active member of many committees at the VAR level.  He also served as President of the Virginia Land Institute.
  • Renee Miller, Great Falls
    Ms. Miller of Weichert, REALTORS® was VAR President in 1998, served as NAR’s Region 3 Vice President. She received Virginia’s REALTOR® of the Year award in 2004.
  • Percy Montague, Charlottesville
    Mr. Montague of Montague & Miller, Co. was VAR President in 1999 and was Virginia's REALTOR® of the Year in 2001.
  • Fred Morene, Hopewell
    Mr. Morene of the Ford Agency, Inc. is Treasurer Emeritus of the Virginia Association of REALTORS®, and has served in volunteer positions at all three levels of the REALTOR® organization since 1963. He received Virginia’s REALTOR® of the Year award in 1995.
  • Richard Nelms, Richmond
    Dick Nelms of Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc., served on VAR Board of Directors from 1976–1981 including Regional Vice President in 1978–1979 and President of VAR in 1981.
  • Jack O’Donohue, Fairfax Station
    Mr. O’Donohue of Trust Properties received Virginia’s REALTOR® of the Year award in 2005. A longtime legislative advocate for the profession, he has testified and spoken on behalf of the REALTOR® organization before local and state lawmakers and the Virginia Real Estate Board.
  • Bill Overacre, Lynchburg
    Mr. Overacre is president and owner of Re/Max 1st Olympic. He served as VAR President in 1983, and is a recipient of NAR’s prestigious Distinguished Service Award. He received Virginia’s REALTOR® of the Year award in 1988.
  • Ann Palmateer
    Ms. Palmateer of GSH Real Estate in Virginia Beach served as VAR President, Director for NAR, RPAC Trustee and many other committees at VAR, NAR and her local Association.
  • Tom Stevens, Vienna
    Mr. Stevens is president and owner of Coldwell Banker Residential and senior vice president of NRT, Inc. He served as president of the National Association of REALTORS® in 2006, and was VAR President in 1989. He received Virginia’s REALTOR® of the Year award in 1991.
  • Jack Torza, Mechanicsville
    Mr. Torza of  Long and Foster of Mechanicsville. He has served Virginia Realtors in a long list of capacities, including president of his local association, president of V.A.R., and as an NAR director.
  • Pat Widhalm, Scottsville
    Ms. Widhalm of Real Estate III, Inc. has been a REALTOR® for 31 years, and continually active as a volunteer for the organization since 1981. She served as a Certified Ethics Instructor and Professional Standards Instructor for more than 20 years.
